Anne Lister – need we say more??

Anne Lister diary page

They’re here at last!  I’ve been working in Calderdale Libraries and I’ve never seen them before. They’re here.  In the flesh, so to speak.  A selection of Anne Lister’s Diaries and letters are on display in our Central Library & Archives in Halifax, courtesy of the West Yorkshire Archive Service

To complement the display of Anne’s diaries and letters we have a display of information and items from our local studies collection, including maps, books and pamphlets.  In our Horsfall Turner collection, we also have some unique items, including Muriel M Green’s unpublished thesis, A spirited Yorkshirewoman: The Letters of Anne Lister of Shibden Hall, Halifax: 1791-1840.

Call in to our Central Library Local Studies section and my colleagues and I are here to help with your Anne Lister related queries.  For example, where was Ann Walker’s real Crow Nest House?
